We want to take a moment and give a huge THANK YOU to a couple of incredible people that recently helped us with a family in need and went above and beyond to help meet their needs for some very special young girls and their new home and family. To not acknowledge what an extraordinary act they recently did would be a shame :-)
A very special thank you to an amazing young lady who left this world all too soon, Katie Grace Weingartner, a beautiful soul who left this world at age 15 from a tragic accident in Reno, NV on June 9, 2017. From this tragedy was born the Katie Grace Foundation, started by her remarkable mother, Kimberly C Rhodes-Weingartner.
Kimberly reached out to us after learning about our clients' needs and wanted to help out in such a tremendous way, we were overwhelmed with gratitude. Actually, to say she went above and beyond is an understatement! She changed lives and made us all remember that everyone is worthy and loved- even if you don't always feel it in those dark times, especially to all children who struggle after a trauma- you are more loved than you will ever know💞
In a strange twist, certainly one of the strangest and most amazing twists I've seen that to hear would make anyone a believer: You never know when a Guardian Angel is watching over you💞 But...that's their story to tell, not mine ;-) Sometimes believing is seeing!
Thank you Kimberly and Katie Grace for your work to show kindness and compassion for others and to help them along the way.
For everyone else reading this who gets stressed and jaded by the cruelty and apathetic behavior we can too often see, please remember The Katie Grace Foundation and the good folks working hard to do good in this world and make a change. Truly inspiring and may it inspire you to go on and Pay It Forward, make a difference where and when you can, as no kind act is ever a waste.
Much love to you, KImberly and Katie Grace- your kindness has made an impact that will affect many lives and you'll forever have a friend in us at Humboldt Ava💞
“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.”
"But even with the inspiration of others, it's understandable that we sometimes think the world's problems are so big that we can do little to help. On our own, we cannot end wars or wipe out injustice, but the cumulative impact of thousands of small acts of goodness can be bigger than we imagine." ~ Queen Elizabeth II
At 15 years old she had gained the love and respect of everyone she came in contact with, her classmates, teammates, her coaches and teachers, kids and adults alike. Katie was young at heart but held the wisdom of an old soul. Her hugs would fill your heart with joy. She was the epitome of “giving the shirt off her back” and would offer her lunch or a seat next to her to avoid a friend feeling hungry or excluded.
The Katie Grace Foundation will embrace the unconditional love for others that Katie taught us. We will use the Foundation to continue acts of kindness and charity in our community. In addition, we will be sponsoring the needs of children to become involved in sports and extracurricular activities. With the help of our local schools and teachers each year we will be providing a scholarship to a child that represents the acts of love and kindness that
Katie valued. If you didn't know Katie, you will get to know her through The Katie Grace Foundation and we are so excited to share her with you. The Katie Grace Foundation has been established as a 100% tax write off with Non-profit status.
We invite you to follow our journey…
